We will be partnering with Hope Farms for a fall volunteer day. Come join the community and get your hands dirty for a good cause!

Hope Farms has a couple projects in mind they could use help with, such as: splitting rhubarb and mulching, cleaning up the greenhouse for the fall, and pulling t-posts from the field.

We will know more about specific tasks and how to prioritize once we have a better idea of who can attend.

Please wear appropriate attire for working outside and bring work gloves.

Hope Farms works alongside the refugee community in Grand Rapids. Utilizing the strong agricultural backgrounds of many of the refugee men and women. Hope Farms provides job training and support for newly resettled refugees to grow vegetables as a community while reconnecting with their agricultural roots. They address issues of food access and employability by providing access to supplemental food and garden space, and by providing job skills training. Their farm is located in Jenison.

RSVP here or on the Facebook Event Page so we know about how many are coming. You can also fill out the form below or email us directly at: info@slowfoodwestmichigan.org.
